About us "Fireweed home and gift
We are an online store founded in Victoria, Canada in 2018.
It was started by a Japanese couple who love Japan with a desire to spread our wonderful and functional products to the world.
We will be moving to Japan in February 2023, but we wanted to keep our online store going, so we resumed operations in May of this year.
By moving our base to Japan, we are now able to stock products more quickly.
We hope that by being able to share information about new products as quickly as possible, we will be able to offer a more fulfilling online store for everyone to enjoy.

About Kinomoto Town where we live
Last year we decided to move to Japan from Canada, where we had lived for 20 years.
We opened a map of Japan and asked ourselves, We spent many days asking ourselves, "Where should we live?
After much deliberation, we decided to move to Shiga Prefecture, home to Japan's largest lake, Lake Biwa.
Located in the northernmost part of Shiga Prefecture is the town of Kinomoto in Nagahama City.
Kinomoto, which has heavy snowfall in winter, has a 400-year history as an inn town dating back to the Edo period.
During the Warring States Period, when samurai and ninja were active, and during the Edo Period, when the shogun united the nation, Kinomoto prospered as a post town on the Hokkoku Kaido, a highway leading to the Sea of Japan.
There are sake breweries, stores making soy sauce, and stores selling delicious Japanese sweets. It is a wonderful place with streets that still retain a sense of history.
We are preparing to deliver our wonderful products to you while experiencing 400 years of history here.
